I am a mathematics graduate based in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence & Applications with Distinction and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Strathclyde.
My academic background has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, modelling, programming and structured problem-solving. I enjoy helping others understand mathematical ideas clearly and calmly, especially when they feel stuck or have lost confidence.
I have provided one-to-one mathematics support to students, including university-level topics such as linear algebra and mathematical optimisation. I also completed a primary school placement, where I supported classroom learning and gained experience explaining ideas to younger learners.
MSc Artificial Intelligence & Applications, Distinction — University of Strathclyde
BSc (Hons) Mathematics, 2:1 — University of Strathclyde
I have experience supporting learners one-to-one with mathematics, including advanced topics such as linear algebra and optimisation. I have also worked in a primary school setting, supporting classroom learning and developing my ability to explain ideas clearly and patiently.
Many learners struggle with maths not because they are “bad at maths”, but because one or two earlier topics were not fully understood. Those gaps can then make later topics feel much harder.
My approach is to find those gaps, explain the underlying ideas clearly, and rebuild confidence through worked examples, guided practice and carefully chosen questions.
